Technical Features

• Blade Length: 8.5 cm
• Martensitic Stainless Steel: Hardness 55-57 HRC, European origin. The stainless steel used in OPINEL blades is optimized to ensure high corrosion resistance and excellent mechanical performance. The blade has an excellent edge and high abrasion resistance, allowing it to withstand regular contact with hard materials before needing to be sharpened again.
• Handle: Made from oak, a hard and very durable wood, especially resistant to insects and fungi due to its high tannin content. Sourced from French companies, it has a yellow-brown appearance with straight and regular grain. The handle is varnished to protect it from dirt and moisture.
• Handle Length: 10.9 cm
• Safety Ring: Invented in 1955 by Marcel Opinel, the Virobloc safety ring is present on all folding knives starting from N°06. Carved from stainless steel, the Virobloc consists of a fixed part and a sliding part, allowing the blade to be locked in both open and closed positions for added safety.
