Technical Features
- Blade Length: 5 cm
- Martensitic Stainless Steel: Hardness 55-57 HRC. European origin. The stainless steel used in OPINEL blades is optimized to ensure high corrosion resistance and excellent mechanical performance. The blade has an excellent edge and high abrasion resistance, allowing it to withstand regular contact with hard materials, such as ceramics, before needing to be sharpened again. Unlike carbon steel, stainless steel does not require maintenance under normal usage conditions, but it may reach its limits in aggressive environments (acid, saltwater, detergents, etc.).
- Handle: Beech is the most commonly used wood for making Opinel handles. Sourced from French plantations, it is hard, durable, and easy to work with. With a uniform appearance, its light color ranges from yellow to pink, and it is recognizable by the presence of numerous dark streaks. The handle is varnished to be effectively protected from dirt and moisture.
